We were attracted by the One Tree Planted charity’s sustainable reforestation program in sensitive areas. We are therefore joining their ambitious reforestation program as a One Tree Planted Partner from January 2020.
We therefore commit ourselves to finance the planting of one tree for each new contract subscribed to our services as well as one tree on each anniversary date of all these contracts. Thanks to your loyalty, the planting of 600 trees can be financed as of this year.
One tree planted guarantees transparency in the use of the funds donated by informing donors in detail of the progress of the process – each donor receives a planting certificate, photos and videos of the trees planted.
Although global reforestation is often cited as a good way of capturing CO2 from the atmosphere, this effect is almost nil in the medium term when it comes to monoculture reforestation programs, intensive silviculture programs or planting on arable land.
One Tree Planted is a sustainable approach to reforestation. Its objective is to recreate forests that are not intended for industrial exploitation, to respect the diversity of plant species and to involve local populations and their ancestral knowledge in determining the types of trees to be planted according to the soil and location.
In its first year of operation, One Tree Planted enabled the planting of 20,000 trees, this figure has since been constantly rising, and in 2019 the 4 million tree mark was passed.
The aim is not to replant at any time and anywhere but to revitalize the planet’s oxygen lungs and replenish the soil to avoid humanitarian disasters during heavy rains (soil gullying) and to preserve biodiversity.
As donors it is possible to choose the region in which to plant their trees (North America, Asia, Africa, Latin America), for our part, and in view of the current events at the beginning of the year 2020, we have chosen Australia.
Trees absorb 20% of the CO2 present in the atmosphere and purify the air we breathe.
They filter water by absorbing it and then releasing it by transpiration-evaporation.
Forests are home to more than 80% of the world’s terrestrial biodiversity.
They mitigate soil erosion.
Trees have a social impact in terms of employment and life (the livelihood of 1.6 billion people on this planet is linked in one way or another to trees).
They produce molecules and substances that are used as ingredients in 25% of all medicines.
It is by adopting more environmentally friendly behaviors that everyone can help preserve our planet. So if you too are sensitive to this cause and wish to support the efforts of actors in the field, join the One Tree Planted program.
